Well it was another pretty disastrous evening for the country at the Eurovision Song Contest last night – but I guess we should be thankful for not getting a total of ‘nil points’!!
Perhaps we should suggest they use one of our favourite entertainers next year….
Talking of entertainers:
Have you yet booked for the tea & cake with a singer reminding us of many of the wonderful Carpenter’s songs on Thursday 28th May at 3pm?
Book at reception with your £5 deposit for the entertainment. Please ensure you tell the receptionist first before putting any money in the wall safe.
If you have problems with the cash or the correct change please let me know as I may be able to help (jotay14@gmail.com;4595). It sounds like it will be a good afternoon and would be a pity if you missed it.
10th Anniversary of Hampshire Lakes opening – do you have photographs??
Did you realise that some of us have been here at Hampshire Lakes for over 10 years? The village was officially opened by John Craven in June 2016 and so we will be celebrating this on Tuesday 16th June. Some of us are planning some exhibits and would welcome any photographs that you have showing the construction of both phases plus any of the official opening ceremony itself. Please let me or reception know as soon as you can. Thank you.
More details of the celebrations will be announced soon.
Hampshire Lakes Entertainment (HLE)
For those who have booked for Barnum the coach will leave here prompt at 1.15pm on Wednesday (20th). You may wish to bring a sandwich with you for lunch to eat on the coach
Please support Anne Hobbs in the MS ‘Go Challenge 2026’
Again, this year Anne will be participating in the MS ‘Go Challenge’ to raise loads of ££s for the local MS Centre.
The MS society are recipients of the ‘The King’s Award’ and in recognition of this the challenge this year is for members to collectively walk 1173.5 miles of the King Charles III Coastal path, starting at the Centre and following some of the Southwest path finishing at Buckingham Palace.
Anne will be participating in this by walking in the gym and on the motomed.
Please support her by sponsoring her in this amazing undertaking. Sponsor forms are available in Wellness, and in Cottons.
It would be fantastic if she could beat last year’s £540. Thank you
